Touring Lucasfilm HQ (Part 2)

Last week I shared the first 2/3 of the photos I took during my tour of Lucasfilm Headquarters at the Presidio in San Francisco. So before you read any of this, you should really check those out if you haven't already. So where were we? Oh yeah, we had just turned a corner and walked straight into another amazing display!

We were told we needed to be silent, because one of the rooms behind these shelves was currently in use for an interview. So we very quietly admired all this cool stuff:

Those Episode 2 busts were particularly interesting to me, as they reminded me of way back in 2001 when a trove of RealScan images was discovered at Kenner HQ in Cincinnati when they were selling off the fixtures. On top of a closet full of POTF2-era prototypes, they found a binder with scans of all the main Episode 2 characters.

Across from this area were screen-used ships from Ahsoka and The Mandalorian. No idea why Professor Huyang has hair...

The next section contained displays from an eclectic assortment of various ILM projects, among them The Rocketeer, Hook, A.I., Batteries Not Included, Cocoon, The Mask, and Pacific Rim.

Next up were some mo-cap suits, including Mark Ruffalo's for the Hulk, and a reference model for Davey Jones.

Past that hall was another sort of break area, appointed with another assortment of screen-used props. Indiana Jones, Andor, The Last Jedi, and more!

The final two items on the second floor that I snapped were screen-used helmets from Skeleton Crew and The Acolyte.

We wrapped up the visit with a shopping spree in the employee gift shop (we are all now deeply in credit card debt) which was guarded by the Empire's finest. And that was it... we exited through the lobby were we couldn't resist taking a few more photos.

It was an amazing experience. Ethereal. It's hard to believe that kid back in Brookline, digging caves into the snow to play with his figures on Hoth would one day be invited to the place where Star Wars was actually made. I am beyond honored. And I'm thankful I was able to bring along the board from our charity to share it with me.
