Droids Customs: Salvaged!

I've done something with my Droids Customs I've never done before, but I have a very good reason for doing it...

In November 2023 I shipped a pair of Droids Customs to Singapore, as I've done with no problem a couple dozen times. But this time it went badly. The package was lost in the mail. In early March I was notified by the customer the package never arrived. After making every effort to track down were it was with no success, I decided to write off the customs as a loss and credit the payment towards future customs. And I said if I could get my hands on replacement bubbles, I would recreate them.

When I began making my Droids Dengars in August 2025 I noticed two of the bubbles were damaged in shipping. Two bad Dengar bubbles. Two missing TIE Pilot bubbles. This seemed like a good opportunity to make things right. So I reached out to my bubble guy to see if he could do a short run for me.

They arrived and I had nearly everything, except I couldn't find the molds to cast new TIE Pilot coins! So I requested those from my coin mold guy, along with molds for my 2027 figures. When those finally arrived I was all set to build.

The build went fairly smoothly, and I was able to make a couple customers whole (one of whom has been a loyal customer going all the way back to 2014!). I furnished new COAs, and I figure if the lost ones ever turn up on eBay I'll buy them and destroy them. But I see that as highly unlikely. If the box didn't show up by now, it's probably at the bottom of the ocean or some kids found it and tore them open. I feel a tinge of guild for making duplicates, but I think this unique and extreme situation warranted it. In the spirit of full transparency, I'm sharing the tale here.
