RAZOR BACK
Well, Happy Easter, everyone. Just got off a gruelling 10-hour night shift, and I must say, a good chocolate egg goes a long way to making one feel better in such a circumstance. But not far enough. Which is why I put a Fuller’s Vintage 2012 in the fridge as soon as I got home. };D
Okay, gang, so this is the last of the three reviews for the holiday weekend. Still got a couple more in the works, I just need some photographs. We'll get to those a bit later in the year.
Anywho, for today's offering, Ringwood Brewery continues its feral swine theme with Razor Back. And, in my collection, there is not an action figure match better for this beer than Kenner’s Wild Boar Alien, with extending “razor-sharp” spines.
There’s very little info on the labels, apart from the fact that this beer “Contains: Barley malt” and that “Razorback” is another term for a wild boar, and therefore an homage to the brewery’s symbol. At a mere 3.6% ABV, it’s not going to get you very drunk, but it does have a rich, hearty flavour to it with just enough of a hoppy twinge at the back end to keep it interesting. This is the sort of beer that goes well with food. Went very well with a couple of chili-mango-lime chicken wraps I was eating at the time, I must say. So it’s probably also good for quaffing with snacks while watching something nifty on the TV. Or just sitting down and drinking a few in a row.
Drink this if you also like: Newcastle Brown, red ales, amber ales, medium-hoppy ales, session ales.
