LEGO Creature Cantina COMPLETED!

I'm happy to present my fully-assembled LEGO Mos Eisley Cantina (75290) in all its glory.

The set includes the main building, two small out-buildings, two vehicles, and an awesome Dewback.

With nearly 3200 pieces, it took a couple weeks to assemble. A couple totally enjoyable weeks. I have two nitpicks about the set. The first is roof of the main building. It's not a proper roof... more like a skylight.

I'm tempted to try to source some sand-colored flat panels to fill in the roof, but the triangular shapes of the braces would be really difficult to match. It just bugs me that it's the least screen-accurate element of the set.

The second nitpick is more mechanical. In order to swing open the main building, you gotta remove the two smaller ones and reposition the whole thing. That makes for a bit of an awkward "reveal" when you show it off.

Had they split the set to the left of the main entrance instead of around the back, then you could leave it all together when you open it. As it is, you either pull it apart or the whole thing is backwards. I'm certain there were good engineering reasons for this decision, but it's something I wish had been done differently.

The interior features tons of neat little details and great spots to position all your minifigures.

A particular highlight is the bar, which does a great job depicting all the pipes and gadgets (and IG-88 heads) of the movie set.

I actually finished this build a couple months ago, but it was just sitting on the wood board I was using to build it in a corner since then. I was prompted to put it on display now because I've begun working on my next build - C-3PO (75398). I'm nearly half-way done with that one already. I'm really feeling the desire to take on another beefy build. That Jabba's Sail Barge looks pretty... pretty cool...
