I completed assembly of my next run of Droids Customs over the weekend, much to the detriment of my lower back. It all began with completing the front artwork:

This one took a bit more tweaking than most... I ended up printing out 5 "proofs" to get colors and position where I was happy. The back went a lot easier.

That was ones and done. Took photos of the figure. Dropped it onto the template. Color adjusted. Copy-pasted the letters for the character name on the back in black in white. This one was tougher than some - There's no X in any name on the back, so I had to make one from K. And there's also no 7 but I lucked out since the numbered list 7 is the same size and weight. Only it's not in white, so I had to invert it and adjust the color hue.

After a quick check of the bubble position, I knew I was good to go!

I took Friday off work, so that gave me time to finish all this plus paint the coins. That went wonderfully.

On Saturday I built the cardbacks. I watched a decent sci-fi double-feature while working, Code 8 and Code 8: Part II. Only had one big failure with a card that had a big white dot on it after I pasted it to the comic book backer.

Sunday it was bubbles. I prepped the figures by applying a dot of Elmer's on the backs of the necks to keep the heads from rotating inside the bubble. And I fixed the red dot on the eye on 5 of the 21 figures. I really hope those don't rub the bubbles in transit.

Speaking of flaws, I just wanted to quickly state that, while I do my best, my customs are not flawless. My hands are particularly tied by the bubbles, which I don't make myself. Sometimes they're a bit wavy. Sometimes they don't seal completely, as I'm using scrapbooking tape not industrial equipment. When you're buying my customs it's for the art. So I hope everyone's satisfied even if the bubble might lift. I can either make as many as I can with the bubbles I receive, or make smaller runs.

So, since the figures are ready, they'll go on sale Wednesday! They may not ship until Friday because when I ordered boxes on Amazon, despite being a Prime member, the fastest they can get here is Friday. Check back here at around 9:30am Eastern (New York) time for instruction on how to order.
