Cleaning the Procol-osseum!

It's been a while since I've had guests over to see my collection room, so it slowly but surely evolved from a "collection display" room into a "collection storage" room. Just tossing in boxed one on top the other until I had time to organize them. Well, over the weekend I had time.

This past weekend was the bye week for both the Virginia Cavaliers (Wahoowa!) and the Pittsburgh Steelers, so the only sports I had to watch were the Pittsburgh Penguins. I'd intended to do some yardwork on Saturday, but the weather had other plans. Rained non-stop all day. So I decided instead to clean up my Star Wars room, the Protocol-osseum.

Part of it was squeezing in all the new stuff I've added to the collection over the past 6 or 9 months. The other part was boxing up some stuff (mostly swag) that didn't really need to be on display. Now that it's all nice and organized, I figured I'd take some photos and take you all on a little tour. Let's all enter the Protocol-osseum!

As you first enter the room you're greeted by a three tall bookshelves. Turn around and you'll see the walls beside the door, along with the door itself, are pretty much maxed out on display space.

Let's take a look at the two narrow bookshelves.

These shelves are a mix of 3PO stuff and other stuff that doesn't fit anywhere else. Star Wars Celebration Collecting track stuff I've contributed to. Convention exclusive Black Series figures (which I really should look into selling). Convention badges. And tons of C-3PO knick-knacks.

The wide shelf to the right of those is where we get to the really good 3PO stuff!

The top shelf features various busts and statues and some foreign deluxe figures. The second shelf is a mix of foreign Vintage 3POs and Vintage bootlegs. The shelf below that is my collection of assorted loose Vintage 3POs (including foreign variants like Poch, Lili Ledy, Glasslite, and Takara), AND my Vintage preproduction loose C-3POs. Below that is ceramics and bath stuff. Below that mostly clothing. And on the bottom shelf are my Vintage 12" pieces, including an unassembled first shot and a scratch test.

To the right of that shelf is half-height shelf. This one houses my Droids Customs and the last remnants of my loose modern collections in two dioramas.

Looking back towards the entrance, I have some pretty awesome stuff hung on the wall.

I just added the Warhol-style latch-hook rug, there's a 3-color proof, a 1-of-1 Topps Masterworks card, and my favorite non-3PO piece in my collection: Clone Commander Steel, an original drawing by Dave Filoni. Beside that is a very narrow cubby, the space left over after we remodeled the shower in the room behind this one, taking out 75% of the closet. I added in a few plate glass shelves which hold some Funko Pops, more ceramics, and lots of oddball stuff.

To the left of that is my Vintage carded 3PO run:

That's a full set of non-rerelease Droids and Ewoks MOC, and then nearly every known Kenner 3PO carded variant and a bunch of foreign 3POs. I probably could have taken a couple more photos of those... but oh well. If you really want to see them there's more photos in my original Protocol-osseum article, though that's missing a lot of new additions.

On the next wall I've hung some decent stuff...

That's 3 Cromalins, an original Polish movie poster for Star Wars, and next to the window is my complete loose Vintage collection. On the shelf next to that is my loose Droids & Ewoks, some swag items, my complete PSWCS.org charity medallion run, a block of wood that was definitely used to stabilize a camera whilst shooting The Force Awakens, a piece of the Millennium Falcon scaffolding from The Force Awakens, and my only remaining figures from my childhood in the Creature Cantina playset (including Greedo, my very first).

The back wall is dedicated to my Vintage carded run:

That's all of them. All on movie debut cards. US Kenner for SW and ESB (except Leia Bespin, which is a New Zealand Toltoys). Trilogo for ROTJ and POTF (except Madine).

Turn 90 degrees counter-clockwise from there and you get to the rest of the 3PO stuff. Way too much to describe in any detail. Just enjoy the photos!

And that, my friends, is the end of the tour! I hope you enjoyed yourself. Please let me know if you have any questions about anything.
