Friday

A bunch of the "SC" attendees descended on Moretti's Restaurant in Rosemont the night before for some "pre-shenanigans shenanigans" starting @ 5 pm. (A big thank you to Moretti's to be able to accommodate our group of 20+ at such short notice) We ate, drank, and had a really good time. @ 9 pm, the party started to break up, some of us went home (like me), others stayed at the restaurant bar, and some went ???

Saturday

Those that were podcasting got to The Murray Bros. Caddyshack restaurant bet. 11-11:30 am to begin setting up their audio & video equipment. Others (like myself) got there @ 1 pm, ordered food & drinks, and just hung out/socialized. Those Podcasters in attendance (per their Twitter handles) were:

There were also people who didn't have podcasts, but who came out to support the show, like:

Of course, Dominic Pace was in attendance as well. Signing autographs, taking pictures with the fans, and promoting his first officially LFL licensed collectible, which was a "Mandalorian" season 1 tiki mug from "Geeki Tiki". I had found a painting on eBay someone had done of Gekko that I brought and had him sign.

The podcast session was scheduled to start at 3, but actually began a little later then that due to technical difficulties. But once it started it was a fabulous time! Each of the "Red 5 podcasting family" got their own chance at the microphone, to say what they wanted to say and promote their individual shows. There was trivia for both those in attendance and those listening in to the chat, with some nice prizes including black series figures and Funko pops & pins. Some Imperial Stormtroopers even made an appearance!

Before we knew it, 5:00 was upon us, and it was now time to shut things down, pack things up, and say our goodbyes. Some people (like myself) went home, others went off to a piano bar in the area and stayed there until ???

Sunday

For people like myself, I was already home and had no other place to go. For others who had come in for the event, now had to pack up their vehicles, or get back to the airport for the return home. We had people come in from Michigan, California, and Arizona to name a few states. Everyone got home safely, even though one of the groups of people that came in from Mi. got a flat tire on their way back, then found out the spare they had was flat too. But a good time was had by all, and everyone is already talking about where & when "Scarifcon 2023" will take place. So a BIG "thank you" to Ro for setting all of this up, for all the Podcasts & people who came out in support of this event, and especially to Dominic Pace for taking time out of his schedule to be a part of it.

As soon as we have some info on next year's event, I'll be sure to let everyone know and hopefully this "Con" will continue to grow with each passing year. As for me, it was great to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, eat some good food, have some great times, and simply be a part of the "Red 5 Family". Take care all, can't wait for next year! In the meantime, stay safe, healthy, and MTFBWYA!!
