Star Wars Celebration Chicago (Sat)

One nice thing about today was that all the autographs I was getting were going to be on my "Solo" poster, so I didn't need to bring anything else with me. Another plus was that it being Saturday, there was no rush-hour traffic to deal with, plus we got a spot in the MP parking garage once again.

After getting inside, getting in line, and waiting until 10:00, Barry headed off to pick up the swag we had ordered with our 501st bash tickets (for whatever reason, they weren't giving it out at the actual bash on Thu, and when we went to try and pick it up on Fri, they were already done giving it out for the day and told us to come back on Sat.) I went and bought some art from Jason Palmer, then headed over to the Funko booth to pick up my exclusives. Now again I hadn't win the Funko lottery, but I found a guy on eBay who did win, and I bought them from him (at quite a considerable mark-up, I might add.) but at least I had all the show-exclusive blue-chrome Pops. While waiting for him to get through the line, I stopped to play one of the pinball machines they had near there and liked it so much, I bought one of those as well! (the tale of how that machine came to arrive at my house will follow once I'm done reporting on SWC, and believe me, it's a doozy!)

With pinball machine ordered, and Funko Pops in hand, I headed off for my first photo-op of the day at 11:20 which was the "Clone Wars" cast. Then had my Dave Chapman autograph which was at the same time. After that, I was free until 3:00.

The cup for the day was Rey, So Barry picked that up whilst I was doing the photo-op, then we walked around the show floor for a bit. At 3:00, I headed off for my photo-op with Jett Lucas, it was then that things started to get a little dicey timewise. My next three photo-ops were as follows: Billy Dee Williams at 3:20, Paul Bettany at 3:30, and Erin Kellyman at 4:10. Of course, all of them ran behind, but I was still able to get them all done. Then I had my Jett Lucas autograph at 4:30 (I had him sign one of the 8x10's he had at his table), Paul Bettany's autograph at 5:00, and Erin Kellyman at 5:20.

With autographs and photo-ops done for the day, I stopped by Joe Corroney's booth and picked up one of the framed Rey pieces he had at the con, and we then headed out. We weren't going home however; I had been invited to a very exclusive party hosted be Derek Maki of "Coolwaters Productions" at Lou Malnati's pizzeria downtown. The guest list was very small, but as I'm a regular customer, I got an invite and was able to bring Barry. Julian Glover and Anthony Forrest were in attendance, and Billy Dee Williams was supposed to have been there too but was just too tired from yesterday's and today's con activities to make an appearance. We each got a nice swag bag filled with all sorts of goodies and were treated to a great dinner of salad and deep-dish pizza.

After that, it was finally time to hit the road and head home as there were still two days left of the convention, and a whole lot to still accomplish!
