So I got busy over the last week, and ended up being very successful in my endeavors! It started Thursday, when I took advantage of the wonderful 60+ degree weather and painted up my coins...

It was also nice and sunny, which is exactly what I need for photographing the figures I add to the backs of the cards. And I gotta say - my Squidhead photo turned out fantastic!

I started my Saturday by doing my taxes. I was done before noon, so I had all afternoon and evening to bang out my cardbacks! I almost finished everything before dinner. Here's my stack of Squidhead "proof cards":

Sunday after Church I got to work on mounting the bubbles. And I immediately ran into an unexpected challenge! I found out the bubble I ordered for Squidhead are VERY form-fitting! I don't know if my supplier measured him with his cloak off of what! But there was just no wiggle room at all inside these things! So I needed to get creative!

Typically I just tape the weapon to the side of the bubble and plop in the figure, but that would have looked terrible. Just a pale tan face above a scrunched-in brown cloak. So for the first time, I really had to work on staging the figures inside the bubbles. I decided to twist the cloak and fold the right side back over his shoulder. And I placed his blaster in his hand, because that figure holds its gun very securely. In the end, it looked great, showing off all the details of the figure with an dashing off-the-shoulder cape pose. After I had them positioned right, I actually had to tape the figure into the bubble to keep it immobile while I attached the double-sided tape to the edges.

That was a lot of work. But the end result made me very happy. Here's the first off the assembly line:

And then I did it 14 more times!! My back was killing me by the time I finished.

So, my run is ready to go. I will be selling them to the public next Wednesday, February 20th, sometime between 8am and 9am. They will be posted for sale here on the CreatureCantina web site, then shared on the CreatureCantina.com Facebook page. But if you really want one, I wouldn't wait for it to show up on your news feed! Check back here and start hitting refresh right at 8am on Wednesday! Honestly, I could use the hits. Maybe I'll hold off posting the news until 8:59 just to goose my web stats!
