Odds and ends

If you didn't get enough Tom Spina goodness from last week's post, then make sure to watch last week's "The Star Wars Show" as there is a piece in there about what he and others did at SDCC for Magic Wheelchair.

So both Mark Hamill AND Carrie Fisher are coming back for Episode IX, which I believe starts filming today! Add to that Billy Dee Williams is making his return, so I figure it should be one heck of a wrap up to the Skywalker saga.

Also announced at SDCC last month was that "The Clone Wars" will be returning sometime next year on Disney's new streaming service. 12 more episodes have been announced to close out the story that so many have wanted finished for so long. But I've seen complaints on social media that since there are ONLY going to be a dozen episodes, the series isn't really saved at all. I guess there's no pleasing some people. The series was nearing its end, or I should say, the beginning of "Revenge of the Sith", so I'm much happier we're getting what we are, as opposed to it ending abruptly like it did and that's that.

With this being the beginning of August, "Solo: A Star Wars Story" will be out on DVD and Blu-Ray next month. In case you didn't hear/didn't know, here's where you can get all the exclusives, and what they are:

  • TARGET: exclusive booklet
  • TARGET: exclusive red metal Millennium Falcon that you can put together. (you have to have the Target Red Card to be able to purchase this edition)
  • DISNEY STORE: Exclusive lithographs
  • BEST BUY: Exclusive Steelbook packaging
  • WAL*MART: Their website lists an "Ultimate Collectors Edition", and also a "Wal Mart Exclusive Edition", but doesn't currently state what each one will contain.

Not sure if "Solo" is still playing around wherever you live, but considering its been two months since it opened, it still has showtimes at one theater in my area. Now I have to drive almost an hour one way to get there, but because it's still around, I've managed to catch it 14 times so far.

If you’re planning on attending Star Wars Celebration next year, but still haven't bought tickets, you might want to do that rather quickly as the 5 day and Saturday passes are all sold out.
