I found this far-out offering from the Drygate Brewing Company of Glasgow at a local supermarket, and it really caught my eye. Beer. Mango. Forklift with a disco ball. Oh, man, I just had to review this one! The DayGlo green Decepticon forklift, Dirt Boss, from the Revenge of the Fallen line, matches up perfectly with this beer. Especially if given a tiny disco ball and posed in a John Travolta-ish stance.

Now, I never liked mango much, until my fiancée shared some of hers with me one day, and I realised that on the two occasions I’d had mango in the past, it had been bad, under-ripe mango. Now I love the stuff, baby. Solid. And this happening beer does a very good job of passing on the flavour and aroma of really good, ripe mango. The fruit and malt portions of the taste are sweet and tangy, marred only by a slightly-too-bitter-for-my-liking hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste. But, hey, some people like that kind of funky thang. For some reason. Probably sociopathy. But I digress . . . .

Actually, there’s just one other thing I don’t like about it. It only comes in squitty little 12 oz. (330 mL) cans. I’d rather it be in a half-liter bottle, or better still, a full English pint! Other than that, this ale is totally groovy, and I dig it. Outta sight!
